Beet Hummus: Three Ways

Blend in beets for a vibrant and nutritious boost!

If you’re anything like us, you would gladly petition for hummus to be recognized as its own official food group. Whether you like to spread it thickly on Ezekiel bread, mop it up with warm pita slices, or dunk freshly sliced veggies into it, hummus is always the creamy, savory solution.

Not only is hummus ah-maz-ing, it’s great for you, too! Chickpeas, the traditional base of hummus, are excellent sources of protein and fiber. Blended with good-fat-filled tahini, pine nuts, and olive oil, along with the antioxidant power of garlic, hummus is a true nutritional powerhouse. And it goes with everything.

It only gets better: we like to brighten ours by blending in beets! For a vibrant beet hummus, toss a few Organic Cooked Beets in with the rest of your preferred hummus base and pulse until smooth. You can experiment with our marinated baby beets, too, for more unique flavor profiles. How delicious would White Wine + Balsamic Beet Hummus be on a crispy multigrain cracker with a slice of sharp cheese? (The answer: very delicious.)
