Caring for Our World

We believe in making the world a better place!

Earth Day is one of our favorite days of the year. The Earth deserves our upmost respect for providing us such a majestic world to live in. As a company, we strive to make decisions based on what is best for the environment and related communities.

Here are three distinct ways Love Beets tries to make our world a better place:

First, our boxes are manufactured using 100% green solar energy and certifiably sourced through the Sustainable Forestry Initiative. The “forest certification standard is based on principles that promote sustainable forest management, including measures to protect water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species at risk, and Forests with Exceptional Conservation Value”. Check out http://www.sfiprogram.org for more information on the boxes we use.

Additonally, Love Beets’ marinated beets, Honey + Vinegar Golden Beets, and Beet Salsa now feature packaging with a peel and reseal tab. This new feature is consumer friendly, BPA free, and leaves less of a carbon footprint on the earth, where consumers are able to re-use the packaging instead of transferring the left over beets into another container or plastic zip-lock bag.

Second, we offer four USDA Certified Organic products! We offer organic Mild Vinegar Marinated Baby Beets, Cooked Beets, as well as our Beet Juice and Beet Juice with a Hint of Ginger. Organic farming is much better for the ecosystem and surrounding communities.

Third, we use EcoTensils for our sampling events. We attend many trade shows and community events at which people are able to taste our products so using environmentally-friendly utensils are vital since we go through so many! Plastics and paper products cannot be broken down in landfills and typically end up in the ocean.

Chocolate-Beet and Dirt Cupcakes in flower pots

For a fun and easy recipe to make this Earth Day, try our Chocolate-Beet and Dirt Cupcakes! This recipe uses our cooked beets and beet powder for the ultimate sort-of-nutritious cupcake. Get creative in decorating your cupcake such as setting it in a mini clay pot once it cools from the oven.

This Earth Day we encourage everyone to reconsider their impact on the environment and make small changes for a more positive impact. We would love to hear how you are celebrating Earth Day so let us know here!
