Love Beets + Gourmet Garden Cooked n’ Scribbled!

We spent the day with food writers and our favorite herb people to create and cultivate delicious and healthy food!

When our friends at Gourmet Garden told us about the blogger event they were planning with cookNscribble, we knew it was the kind of creative, inspirational gathering of food-lovin’ minds that we adore. The world’s best beets in tow, we hopped aboard the next flight to Miami to rendezvous with a dozen food writers, bloggers, and thinkers.

We got to share our new Smoky Shredded BBQ Beets with the attendees, and were delighted to see the inventive twists that the foodies created! Highlighting sorghum (the new quinoa, if you were to ask guest Chef Shannon), the bloggers crafted unique recipes that featured ancient grains, fresh produce, our beets, and Gourmet Garden’s delicious lightly dried herbs.

Chef Shannon put together a perfect (and accidentally vegan) hors d’ouevres of sorghum-stuffed mushroom caps, topped off with savory Smoky Shredded BBQ Beets and a generous sprinkling of cilantro and chive. She then invited all of the attendees to go wild on the prepped produce and create their own Love Beets & Gourmet Garden treat.

Once everyone had plated, the bloggers and food writers participated in a quick challenge to snap the best food pictures and write up a scintillating and scrumtious-sounding blog about their dishes!

Of course, no meal is complete without a refreshing drink. Liana Lozada got crafty with her garnishes for her updated twist on the classic Collins which featured our Organic Beet Juice with a Hint of Ginger, simple syrup, lemon, gin, and a dose of sparkling water.
